Do you have a stiff neck, a sore back from sitting all day, or do you simply want to completely switch off both physically and mentally?
The hustle and bustle of everyday life and stress quickly take their toll on our muscles. If you’re looking for a solution that truly loosens up tight spots but doesn’t require extremely intense, athlete-level deep tissue work, the Swedish massage that's your genre.
At NeoVital Massage, Swedish massage is the “golden mean” of stress relief: it is noticeably softer and more gentle than a hard sports massage, but at the same time much more powerful than a smooth, caressing relaxation wellness massage. Thanks to its wide range of strokes, it provides a personalized solution to almost any everyday muscle problem.
How does this treatment help you?
Swedish massage is one of the most versatile and ancient European massage techniques, which affects both the body and the mind.
- Customizable intensity: The strength of the strokes is completely tailored to your needs and the condition of your muscles - it can be pleasantly moving or more deeply stress-relieving.
- Stimulates blood and lymph circulation: Improves oxygen supply to tissues, thereby accelerating the removal of accumulated waste products.
- Reduces stress: It calms the nervous system, reduces stress hormone levels, thus helping with better sleep and mental refreshment.
How is the treatment process structured?
Swedish massage follows a strictly structured, classical protocol, during which we prepare and relax the entire body step by step:
- Stroke (Preparation): This soft, introductory stroke warms the skin, distributes the massage oil, and accustoms the nervous system to touch.
- Rubbing (Initiating Circulation): We work the surface tissues with more vigorous, circular movements, increasing local blood flow and warming up stiffer muscle groups.
- Kneading (Actual Release of Tension): This is the most important, active part of the massage. With firm, deep movements, we literally knead and stretch the muscle fibers, effectively loosening stubborn knots and adhesions.
- Percussion and Vibration (Closing): We refresh the treated area with rhythmic, stimulating strokes, then close the process with gentle vibration and soothing strokes, so you leave feeling completely relaxed and yet energized at the same time.
Which time frame should you choose?
For Swedish massage, you should choose the duration based on the area you want to focus on or how much time you have during the day:
- 30-minute treatment (Express): The perfect choice if you're pressed for time at work and just want to jump in for a quick, focused back-neck-shoulder massage and relaxation so you can continue your day with renewed energy.
- 60-minute treatment: An excellent option for a more detailed, focused massage. This time comfortably includes a thorough relaxation of the entire back, shoulder girdle, neck and arms, or even a complete lower body massage.
- 90-minute treatment: The most popular choice. In this time frame, we can work the entire body from head to toe (back, neck, shoulders, arms, legs front and back) without rushing, while also having time for extra pampering of the most problematic areas.
Tip for the day of the treatment: After the massage, it is worth wearing loose, well-ventilated clothing so that the valuable oils massaged into your skin can still have their beneficial effects and your body can rest comfortably after the treatment.
Your freedom at NeoVital Massage: No rigid commitment! Book a time frame that suits you (30, 60 or 90 minutes), and on site, based on your current mood or physical condition, we can decide whether Swedish massage is the best fit for you. And if you have a pass, you can use it flexibly for this treatment as well.
Professional tip for maximum effect: Swedish massage triggers the body's detoxification processes, so in the hours after the treatment, drink plenty of (at least 1.5-2 liters) non-carbonated water! This helps the loosened waste products to leave your body quickly and smoothly.
Cure Success: Rent and Schedule
Accumulated stress and muscle tension caused by poor posture rarely go away in a single session. For lasting well-being and flexibility, my 5+1 session pass offers the most ideal solution.
The recommended treatment plan:
- Acute complaints, in case of high tension: 1 session per week is recommended for the first 2-3 weeks to effectively break down adhesions.
- General maintenance and stress relief: You should return every 2-3 weeks, or at least once a month, to prevent muscle tension from reoccurring and maintain easy, pain-free movement.
FAQ – Frequently Asked Questions About Swedish Massage
No, Swedish massage is basically a pleasant, liberating feeling. You may feel a "good tension" or slight pressure in certain tight areas during the kneading movements, but this should never turn into unbearable pain. The intensity of the pressure is always adjusted based on your feedback and pain threshold.
Sports massage is specifically designed to regenerate the deep muscles of active athletes, so it is much more intense, sometimes using tools (e.g. a cup or fascia knife). Swedish massage uses softer, more flowing strokes, aiming for complete physical and mental relaxation, while effectively relieving everyday tension (e.g. caused by sitting).
After the massage, you will experience immediate physical relief, pleasant drowsiness and deep peace. The next day, you may experience a mild, pleasant muscle soreness-like sensation in the worked areas, which is completely natural and indicates that your muscles have worked and are starting to regenerate.
Not recommended in case of fever, high blood pressure, cardiovascular problems, risk of thrombosis, diseases with increased bleeding tendency (e.g. taking anticoagulants), hematoma, menstrual period, untreated high blood pressure, advanced diabetes, osteoporosis, for 8 weeks after recent surgeries, in case of large varicose veins, in case of certain psychological diseases, in case of alcohol, drugs and other mind-altering substances, in case of known cancer for 5 years. Please, if you have any health problems, let's discuss them before booking!
